It is called Roll Recovery and I’ve been a user for the past four years, here is what I love.
You snap it on sitting, standing, or lying down, automatically applying the correct pressure. Plus, you can do your Quads and Hamstrings at the same time! Or your Shin and Calf at the same time!
It is a must for a warm-up and most likely is a way better activation than you are doing now before your workouts. Even 60 seconds will make a difference.
The magic is for post-workout recovery. If you are as tight as me, it will hurt a bit, but that is what is needed. I think of it as an intense deep tissue massage that I can do in 5 minutes post-workout.
Frankly, in my experience is much deeper pressure than 90% of massages.
If there is one new training device you need to add, this is the best ROI you will find at only $129 for the R8.
There are two versions, the R8 and the brand new R8 Plus. The advantage of the R8 Plus is that there is a dial that lets you custom your pressure.
Most people the R8 is fine, but if you are sensitive or really tight, you might consider the R8 Plus.
Roll Recovery also has an excellent classic roller, a foot roller that I use religiously before riding, running, and skiing.
Plus, they have this unique mat that folds up into this tiny flat mat you can carry with you anywhere. When it is folded it is tiny like 18″ x 13″ (I often use mine for changing the car and having something clean to stand on).
Roll On!
