Solid is Maurten’s new “bar,” and it has received rave reviews.
SOLID is the new bar from the Swedish brand Maurten. They spent over 3-year developing the perfect energy bar for cyclists, runners, and triathletes.
They launched a limited quantity this past summer, which promptly sold out.

What I’ve found personally is the following: It is one of the best bars to eat while working out as it is sticky enough to stay together, doesn’t crumble everywhere, and doesn’t get stuck in the back of your throat. The carbs at 44g are fantastic, and I’ve significantly lowered how many Gels I need to use during my workouts. Flavorwise is what was said above. It tastes great but doesn’t overpower you with flavors, so you don’t grow tired of it.
How to use SOLID in your training
First, lower your “quick-energy” consumption early in long workouts by replacing the Gels & Chews you would use in the first half of your workout with a Maurten SOLID BAR. I’m saving the quick energy products for the second half of my workout and still getting to over 90g of carbs per hour.
Second, the bar is pretty fantastic post-workout. Especially when I come home at 2:30 PM, and it isn’t lunch, but not quite dinner. One Maurten SOLID post-workout has been great, very satiating, and a great way to refill carbohydrate stores.
