If you aren’t familiar with the brand Neversecond, you will be soon.

It fueled this summer’s Tour de France winner and most of the top 10 at the recent Leadville 100.

What makes Neversecond special?

First is the science that goes into the products. Neversecond is the brainchild of the Asker Jeukendrup, one of the world’s revered sports nutrition and fueling experts.

Second, it has taken off faster than almost any brand we have seen with the world’s elite athletes. Often an excellent sign that this product is working well for these athletes.

Third, the flavor profile is excellent. It is a light flavor that can easily take in large volumes without fatigue. I also find the drink has a flavor that I would best describe as “quenching.”

Here is the inside scoop on Neversecond:

C30 Drink Mix

The drink is the perfect everyday drink for training. C30 means 30g of carbs per bottle. Wants 60g? No problem, I mix in 2 scoops per bottle, getting me to 60g of carbs and 400mg of sodium.

Gels (New Flavors)

I describe the Gel as having a “jello” texture like Maurten, yet still is very fluid like SiS. It goes down easy, even during intense training. The taste is like a semi-frozen Lime Freezy, but not too sweet. Today we have the new Passion Fruit and Fruit Punch Flavors.

Recovery with Whey Protein (NEW)

A delicious new chocolate recovery shake! What makes it unique for me is that it is relatively low carb. So many recovery drinks have way too many carbs for most athletes.

Neversecond has formulated this Whey Isolate to be 30g of protein and only 5g of carbs. The focus is on pure muscle regeneration after hard workouts. The theory is if you properly fuel your workout with carbs, you don’t need as many post-workout for recovery.
